The Aristotle Hepsin Test
Talk with your healthcare provider to determine whether the
Aristotle Hepsin Test is appropriate for you.
Developed in Arkansas.
Performed by Aristotle Diagnostic Laboratories.
The Hepsin Test is a specialized blood test that measures the level of hepsin a protein being studied for its association with prostate cancer and cancer activity.
Using a simple blood draw, the test may provide additional information that helps you and your healthcare provider decide whether further evaluation or closer monitoring should be considered.
How It Works
-
A blood sample is collected at a participating healthcare provider’s office.
-
Aristotle Laboratories measures the hepsin level in your blood.
-
Your healthcare provider reviews the result alongside your PSA, medical history, symptoms, examination, and other test results.
What Does the Result Mean?
An elevated hepsin result does not automatically mean that you have cancer. It may indicate that additional evaluation or follow-up is appropriate.
The Hepsin Test is not intended to replace a PSA test, imaging, biopsy, or your physician’s medical judgment. It provides another piece of information to support a more informed conversation about prostate health.
Who May Benefit?
The test may be considered for men who:
-
Want additional information about their prostate health
-
Have an elevated or changing PSA level
-
Have a family history of prostate cancer
-
Are considered at increased risk
-
Are being monitored following prostate cancer treatment
